As promised were dropping you a wee line to tell about our stay in Dangriga, or 'crazy town' as we've nicknamed it. We're in Placencia now after a very pleasant time in Caye Caulker. We just can't get enough of those rays!

Mopan Mayans
The Mopan Mayans originally inhabited parts of Belize and the Paten in Guatemala in the 1600’s. Some were converted to Catholicism by the Spanish while others resisted. At one time there were over one million Mayans living in Belize. Many were struck by small pox, and all were driven out of Belize by the British in the 18th and 19th centuries.

Our biggest dream is that one day Na Luum Ca Mayan Village of Belize will teach, and our people will learn to read and write in the Mopan Mayan language. There is many people speaking the Mayan language but most people can not read nor write the Mayan language.
